How to setup Facebook Instant Articles

To be able to setup Facebook Instant Articles you need to have a live web page. You cannot setup Instant Articles on a DNN website that is on localhost.

When everything is set, Facebook Instant Articles are visible to the users of the Facebook mobile app.

First, you need to go to the EasyDNNnews module and edit settings. Under section 13. Related articles, RSS and Sitemap turn on the option Add Facebook Instant Articles data. This will add to RSS feed information needed for Facebook Instant Articles.

To set up posting to Facebook Instant Articles, first, you need to sign up at https://web.facebook.com/instant_articles/signup and select page where Instant Articles will be published. 

After that, you will be taken to the selected page Publishing tools. Under Instant articles in the Configuration section, you will see the following settings.

Open Connect your site. You will see the meta tag that you need to enter to DNN page where your EasyDNNnews module is.

Copy the meta tag and add it to the DNN page.

Return to Facebook, enter the URL of the DNN page and click Claim URL.

In the Production RSS feed and Development RSS feed enter the URL of the EasyDNNnews module where you turned on the option Add Facebook Instant Articles data and click Save.

Wait a few minutes, and your articles should appear under Development Articles and Production Articles sections.

After that, for users to see Instant Articles on the mobile app, first you must be approved by Facebook. When you have at least ten articles, you can submit them for a review. If Facebook approves you, your Instant Articles will be visible to users.
