Sorting posts per custom fields

Articles (posts) can be sorted per values in custom fields. Sorting can be Descending or Ascending. Sorting is possible if the values entered in the custom fields support sorting. Sorting per custom fields is possible for the following types of data: Text, Integer, Decimal, Money, Date and time.

How to adjust sorting per custom fields

As we have already mentioned in the introduction, sorting is possible only for certain types of data. If you want to sort articles per values in a custom field, in the settings of the custom field it is necessary to enable option „ Field is order by“. The custom fields settings are adjusted in Dashboard> Custom fields > Edit custom fields. This option can be also enabled immediately when you create a custom field.

In EasyDNNnews > Settings > 4. Filter articles you can adjust which articles will be displayed in the module instance, and the way how they will be sorted. E.g. to sort posts per the custom field Price, as the Displaying method you will select Apply filters, and by the Order articles by option you will choose the Price field and Descending or Ascending sorting.
