Integration with AddThis

Log in to your AddThis account. You will see the starting page.

Click on the first menu option My Site and then Add Profile. You will see the following screen.

Enter the name of your profile and click Add. You will then be taken to the profile general settings.

Under “General” section you will see ID value. This is your AddThis profile ID. AddThis profile ID will look like “ra-xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx”. Copy and save your profile ID because you will need to enter in EasyDNNnews module.

On AddThis website, you can create multiple profiles with various settings and use them in EasyDNNnews.

From the top menu select option Tools. Here you can set up the look and add options to your AddThis profile.

Click on Add new tool. You will see the list of available tools.

Here you must select Share Buttons.

On this screen, you need to select the Inline option. Additionally, you can add other options like Floating or Popup. Press Continue.

Here you can customize the number, design and other options for sharing buttons. When done press Save & Continue. After that, you are done on the AddThis website. Now go to your website. Go to EasyDNNnews module, open Dashboard control and then open API connections Control.

In the AddThis section, enter AddThis profile ID you’ve previously created and click Add or update AddThis profile ID.

Now the sharing buttons you created should appear in the EasyDNNnews module.

If you are using custom templates, please add token [EasyDNNnews:SocialButtons:AddThis] to your template where you want the sharing buttons to appear.

All templates using [EasyDNNnews:SocialButtons:AddThis] token will show buttons from the AddThis profile entered in the API Connection control.

You can also override the default sharing buttons in the template. You can create another profile on the AddThis website with different buttons and design, copy the AddThis profile ID and paste it into template token. So the token in the template will look like:

 [EasyDNNnews:SocialButtons:AddThis:ra-xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx]

Now all the EasyDNNnews module instances using this template will show buttons from this AddThis profile.
