Commenting and comment moderation
Commenting and comment moderation permissions
The commenting and comment moderation permissions can be set while creating or editing categories. For each of the forum's categories the administrator sets, amongst others, who can comment and who can moderate or review comments fot that category, either for a role or for a specific user.
Commenting actions
If a user has been granted permission to comment it has the following actions available:
- add a comment/submit a comment for moderation - the comment is posted or is submitted for moderation (depending whether the Comments must be reviewed option has been enabled); alternatively - if the Captcha option has been enabled it has to be solved before the comment is added/submitted
- copy a comment link to the clipboard
- report a comment to the moderator
- quote and reply to a comment
- reply to a comment
- upvote/downvote a comment
- like/unlike a comment
Comment moderation actions
If the Comments must be reviewed option has been enabled, a moderator has to review every comment that has been posted.
Actions a moderator can take when a comment has been submitted for moderation are the following:
- approve a comment - the comment is accepted and becomes visible to all users
- reject a comment - the comment is not accepted and the author receives an adequate message
- edit a comment - the comment's content is changed
- delete a comment - the comment is rejected and removed from the comments
- disapprove an already approved comment - the comment's approval is revoked and it's reviewed again
- manage a reported comment - the moderator does a specific action depending on the reporter's feedback
